Producing local foods

July 30: The afternoon will focus on the handling of farm-produced crops and goods. Participants will learn about outlets for local foods, such as Chicago markets and farm stands. In addition, children will hear about how to can and process certain foods and will be taught about picking, selling, and pickling. Children will use vinegar and sugar to make some pickles!
