Quilt on display in the Kinder House

The Historical Society is pleased to announce that the Kinder House will have a unique quilt on display in the master bedroom during 2008. Created in 1908 and originally owned by Mrs. J.U. Stott, the quilt contains thirty squares with the creators' names carefully embroidered in the center of each design. Many also have a month and year stitched in, and a few, the ladies' age.

Most of the names are identifiable as Des Plaines residents, but not much is known about the relationship between the ladies or their backgrounds. Information on any of the women who created the quilt is welcome and can be submitted through our website or by calling 847-391-5399.

Below is a list of the names contained on the quilt and any other information contained in the quilt square.
