Community Partners

Community Partners

Both the City of Des Plaines and the Des Plaines Park District support the Des Plaines History Center through an Interlocal Agreement and through public funding.

Des Plaines Park District

The History Center receives generous support from the Des Plaines Park District and participates in annual Park District events such as Halloween Hoopla and Spring Fun Fair.

City of Des Plaines

The History Center has participated in several City events over the years, including the Independence Day parade, Taste of Des Plaines, Summer Fling, and the Holiday Tree Lighting event.

Des Plaines Public Library

The History Center collaborates with the Des Plaines Public Library on such projects and programs as the Des Plaines Memory web site and historically-themed book discussion groups, as well as producing the recent publication of Des Plaines in the Images of America book series.

Des Plaines School District 62

The History Center works cooperatively with District 62 to provide learning standards-based programs to elementary school students.

Kiwanis Club of Des Plaines

The Kiwanis Club helps support children's programs at the Des Plaines History Center, through funds received in their annual Peanut Day fundraiser.

Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce & Industry

The History Center is a member of the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce and has hosted past business networking events.

Rosemont Chamber of Commerce

The History Center is a member of the Rosemont Chamber of Commerce.


Fall Fest Des Plaines Family Festival

The History Center partners with the Des Plaines Park District and Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce to plan and host the annual Fall Fest event at Lake Park in September.
